Hockey is a game played between two teams. Hockey is the national game of India and PakistanEach team consist of 11 players including the goal keeper.the duration of the game is divided into two periods of thirty five minutes. At half time the teams will change their sides. Hockey sticks are “J” shaped and constructed of a composite of wood and glass fibre and have a curved hook on the other end.The game is popular among both male and female in many parts of the world. Men’s hockey is played at Olympics since 1908 and the women’s hockey started at 1980.
The game starts when the umpire blows his whistle for the opening pass back. The pass -back is done at the centre of the field to start the game. This procedure is also done during half time and after each goal is scored.
